In my “21 Things I’ve Learned by 21” blog post from last week, I mentioned the importance of my relationship with my grandparents. I can’t stress enough how important it is to be close to the three of them – my Yaya, my Nana, and my Papa.
For me, I wouldn’t be half the women I am today if it wasn’t for my grandparents love. My Nana and Papa have taught me everything from ambition and gratitude, to planning and finance. My Yaya gave me the passion for cooking and loving food (monkey bread), and the love and appreciation I have for my family.
The countless hours in the kitchen together, laughing about old memories, playing board games, and traveling together the greatest moments I’ve shared with them. The most important thing I’ve learned from them is that I want to be the parents that they have been to my parents, and then hopefully the grandparents they have been to me. I could never thank them enough for all that they have done for me. My grandparents know everything that I need to do in order to achieve a happy and healthy life. I’m so lucky that I have the three of them to show me the way.
