My blog is my pride and joy. I remind myself constantly of how proud I am for all that I’ve done over the past two years of blogging. There were many lessons to be learned through this journey and today I’m sharing some of my tips! 🌞
Time is precious. Balancing school, my blog, social life, work, and family were tricky at times. I always make sure I have a blog post up every Thursday, but that can cause stress at times. As I got more into my routine when I was at home with working, blogging, and spending time with family, I learned to plan ahead of time and be strategic with splitting my time. When I’m at school, stress filled weeks can make it hard to have motivation to write a blog post, but it always feel my best when I can manage both schoolwork and the blog. Blogging helped get my time management where I needed it to be. I also make sure my content is exactly what I want to share. I never want to make it come across as rushed. I take blogging very seriously and I always want to be sharing my absolute best!
Interacting with other bloggers creates a community within your site. I thoroughly enjoy reading blog posts, commenting, and even following people on other forms of social media. It’s a great way to meet new people who share very similar interests as you, or people who share new topics you want to learn about. It’s a special community and I appreciate every single person who takes the time to read and comment!
Sometimes writing posts for my blog isn’t all about making sure it’s something that will get me the most views. I share my thoughts and experiences as genuinely as I can. Authenticity is essential when you’re trying to portray your personality and interests through online text. Even when posts can contain opinions that might not be accepted by everyone, it’s still my opinion, and I’m allowed to share it. Plus, I love talking with people who think differently than I did – it’s important to have an open mind and not take anything to heart! Readers learn a lot about someone based on what they’re reading, and I always want my readers to know that my posts are true to who I am!
There’s No Goal
As the years have passed, I’ve learned more about myself than I ever thought I would. I realized how important it is to be my own person. Individualism and positivity are characteristics that I thought I would never achieve, but creating this blog, sharing my thoughts, and learning to love myself has changed all of that for me.
I use the phrase “learning to love myself” often throughout my blog and I have a reason for that. I struggled with the mindset that my goals and opinions were never as legitimate as someone else’s. That was a feeling someone had implanted in my brain, but with that person out of my life, I was able to grow. We all have unique ideas and each one is important – there’s no comparison. Moving on to create my own identity was the start to my journey towards loving myself and all that I have to offer. Every day shows another reason why we all need to stop putting too much pressure on ourselves, because you’re your harshest critic. Happiness isn’t the ‘end goal’, it’s a journey that’s filled with ups & downs that shapes who we are today. 💛
